Rich Media Player is an odd creature for the fact that it is a shareware media player which poorly mirrors features of some of the very most popular free media players like VLC Media Player yet lacks any reason to choose it over free options.
It does have some interesting features though and probably its ability to play content from online databases. Rich Media Player supports many of the most popular media formats but again, not something anybody would expect to pay for.
When running Rich Media Player, you are able to scan your local and external data sources for playable content which is then stored in its library.
The layout of Rich Media Player is also nothing special and you can find similar options or skins in most free or open source programs.
Overall, Rich Media Player lacks many basic functions which puts it behind free options. The freeware version does not support some of the more advanced features after the trial period has ended.
